Hailing from the Parisian bass underground, Skwig (Vernacular/Le French Work/Egregore) has been making music for the past 15 years in one form or another, be it playing drums, oboe, banging AKAI pads, mixing live bands or mastering studio albums.

Not limited to any particular genre, Skwig's array of influences spans everything from Stravinski to Aphex Twin through Frank Zappa via DJ Rashad, but never strays away from the realm of bass music.

As a scene activist, Skwig is involved in the Vernacular Orchestra project — a six-handed live hardware jam — as a bassline operator, and in Le French Work, a netlabel/collective aimed at promoting french-speaking juke & footwork artists.

Skwig's first EP on Egregore Collective was released in March 2020, exploring old-school rave and jungle tropes with a particular focus on warmth, vibes and ethereal melodies.
