88 Katanas (Clayton Jones) is a producer/DJ, based in New York City since 2006. Originally from the Philadelphia area, he discovered Drum & Bass in late ’96 when the East Coast rave scene was exploding, and the emerging sound of Techstep was infecting the Philly/Baltimore/DC area.

This pivotal era allowed him to witness top UK acts while taking further inspiration from emerging local Philly talent like Dieselboy, Jordana, Karl K, Jae Kennedy, Kaos, J-Smooth, Mason, D-Star, Trust, Armanni, Sharpness and many more.

As the early 00’s progressed away from big raves and into the club scene, he was lucky to be one of just 50 people in the US selected for Red Bull Music Labs 2004, and was properly exposed to software production for the first time. First as 'Clay Nyse' and then under 'Dominion Audio' he continued to perform as a DJ and release music on Reminiscence Audio and Kian Asamoah's label Noisy Meditation, before rebranding as '88 Katanas' in 2018.

These days, he's set up an independent label called SMITH, collaborating with artists like Art Cuebik, regularly live streaming on Twitch with good friend Currency Audio and working as a freelance graphic designer for movies, television and music.
